- ➤ Over the weekend, Murfreesboro Fire-Rescue firefighter Jackson Pepper rescued a local resident’s cat trapped in a storm drain—returning it to a relieved owner. WGNS
- ➤ Food truck owner Billy McKenzie will give away 500 turkeys and serve meals for up to 1,000 families this Thanksgiving weekend at 833 Murfreesboro Pike. His event will feature live music—bounce houses, obstacle courses and game trucks to offer extra support to families in need. NewsChannel 5

- ➤ MTSU announced on October 31 that it had opened the QRISE center in the College of Basic and Applied Sciences to bring industry partners together for quantum research, learning, and job growth — the center is set to drive new ideas with support from federal grants and partners like ORNL and Middle Tennessee Electric. - ➤ MTSU’s Department of Recording Industry earned a spot on Billboard’s list of the best music business schools for the 11th year in a row—highlighting the new Scott Borchetta College of Media and Entertainment and support from Big Machine Label Group’s founder. - ➤ PathPoint Health opened its new metabolic clinic in Murfreesboro—an effort to deliver integrated care for obesity, diabetes and chronic conditions. Partnered with Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford, the clinic served over 1,100 patients since June and celebrated its ribbon cutting on November 13th. WGNS

- ➤ Oakland High School beat Bradley Central by a score of 35 to 10 and recorded an 18th straight win thanks to four first-half rushing touchdowns. - ➤ MTSU football lost 42-26 to Western Kentucky on Saturday—new quarterback Roman Gagliano started after Nick Vattiato was injured. He passed for 389 yards and threw two touchdowns while running for 82 yards, showing he may lead the team to a brighter future. MTSU Sidelines
- ➤ On Nov. 16 at Nissan Stadium, the Tennessee Titans lost 16-13 to the Houston Texans when a late fumble led to a game-winning field goal as rookie Cam Ward tied the score in the final minutes. Calvin Ridley suffered a season-ending ankle injury during his first play back — a setback that compounded the loss for the Titans. The Daily News Journal
