- ➤ A new Chick-fil-A is proposed for the northeast corner of South Church Street and Joe B. Jackson Parkway in Murfreesboro, located directly across from Walmart and next to Aldi, and it will feature a modern design with parking, landscaping, and a drive-thru—though some design elements still need further review. The Murfreesboro Planning Commission will meet on November 19 to discuss adjustments to the proposal. WGNS

- ➤ Rutherford County Fire Rescue celebrated the graduation of Recruit Class 25-01 on Friday after 14 weeks of intensive training— the new firefighters learned fire behavior, rescue operations, hazardous materials response, emergency medical skills and live-fire scenarios and reported to their stations starting November 17. - ➤ Murfreesboro Mayor Shane McFarland said work is moving ahead on daylighting Town Creek along Northwest Broad Street between South Church and Front Street near the downtown square. The project, partly funded by federal dollars with a fixed deadline of October 2026, will create a park area with green space and a new pedestrian bridge—linking Historic Bottoms with downtown. WGNS
