- ➤ The Journey Home will celebrate Thanksgiving in its new $6.5 million building in Murfreesboro, which expands services with a Community Café, wellness clinic, and 10 interim housing units for families. Volunteers and staff will serve a holiday meal to clients and provide ongoing support through case management, donations, and prayer—helping restore dignity and hope in the community. - ➤ Four Christmas parades are set for Rutherford County: LaVergne’s Parade of Lights will run on December 6 at 5:00 p.m. with a tree lighting and fireworks, Smyrna’s 50th parade will start on December 7 at 2:00 p.m. with a food drive, and Eagleville will hold its 'Christmas Movies' parade on December 13 with candy toss and awards plus Murfreesboro’s 'A Sweet Christmas' parade will take place on December 14 at 2:00 p.m. along Main Street with floats, bands, and dancers. - ➤ Billboard ranked MTSU’s Department of Recording Industry as one of the top music business schools for the 11th year in a row, noting its music business, songwriting, and audio production programs. - ➤ Blackman beat Maryville 31-7 at Bart Smith Field on September 26 in a TSSAA 6A state playoffs quarterfinal and advanced to the state semifinals — they will face Oakland High School on Friday, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. CDT when they try to reach the state championship in Chattanooga. MTSU Sidelines
- ➤ The undefeated Oakland Patriots came back from a 17-7 deficit in the fourth quarter to beat Green Hill High School 21-17 at Ray Hughes Stadium on Nov. 21, with efficient offense + forced turnovers, securing a spot in the state semifinal. MTSU Sidelines
- ➤ MTSU men's basketball traveled to Grand Cayman for the Cayman Islands Classic where they played Murray State on November 23. They will face George Washington today at 4 p.m. and then play McNeese on November 25 — all games air on FloCollege. MTSU Sidelines
