  • Murfreesboro's Annual 2025 Christmas Parade, 'A Sweet Christmas,' takes place Sunday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. on Main Street; Bill Allen (Navy veteran and hometown hero) leads the procession of floats, bands, and dancers as road closures begin ahead of the event.  City of Murfreesboro
  • Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation will host a winter wonderland at Patterson Park Community Center on Dec. 19 & 20 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The free event will feature more than 20 Christmas trees, holiday entertainment, festive crafts and games, and a photo spot for Santa.  City of Murfreesboro

BUSINESS NEWS

  • In-N-Out Burger is opening three new locations this week in our area: Lebanon and Antioch on Wednesday, Dec. 10, and Murfreesboro on Friday, Dec. 12. Each location will have a drive-thru, indoor seating for 74, and a patio for 30 guests, operating daily from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. (1:30 a.m. on weekends).  FOX 17
  • In-N-Out Burger will open its first Middle Tennessee locations this week; the chain launches restaurants in Lebanon and Antioch on Wed., Dec. 10 and in Murfreesboro on Fri., Dec. 12 with fresh ingredients, drive-thru, and seating.   • Audience of One theater group celebrates its 10th anniversary by staging 'Annie' — the production runs Dec. 11–14 at Capitol Theatre, 110 W. Main St. in Lebanon.  Murfreesboro Post

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Today, the Tennessean's Student of the Week poll seeks local culinary arts talent at several high schools by inviting votes until noon Thursday, Dec. 11. The contest highlights young chefs who excel in the classroom and kitchen + supports community recognition of future culinary leaders.  The Daily News Journal
  • MTSU senior Rose Raymer, one of only six nationwide (selected for a prestigious internship with the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency), will graduate Dec. 13 after a 10-week project on a WWII disinterment. She plans to pursue graduate studies in disaster recovery and humanitarian identification work.  Murfreesboro.com
  • More than 1,600 MTSU grads will receive their degrees on Saturday, Dec. 13 at Murphy Center’s Hale/Earle Arena. The 9 a.m. ceremony honors the Basic, Behavioral, Health, and Education colleges, and the 2 p.m. session recognizes Business, Liberal Arts, Media and Entertainment + University College students.  Rutherford County Source

HEALTH NEWS

  • Dr. Craig McCabe explained that Botox injections can help reduce headache pain by relaxing muscles and blocking pain signals—treatment available at his Murfreesboro practice. The injections also smooth wrinkles but remain a prescription option for patients who have exhausted other treatments.  WGNS

SPORTS NEWS

  • On Dec. 8 the Titans ended a seven-game losing streak by beating the Browns 31-29. Cornerback Xavier Woods made an interception and three tackles while running back Tony Pollard rushed for 161 yards and two touchdowns, setting up a chance to build a winning streak on Dec. 14.  The Daily News Journal
