- ➤ Today, Puckett’s Restaurant will launch Puckett’s Love: Feed the Community to provide nearly 4,000 free meals for children at local nonprofits in cities including Murfreesboro—this program will offer breakfast and lunch during June and July to help fight summer food insecurity. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A 28-year-old probation violator, Katlyn Gayle Wray, led a low-speed chase in a stolen black Nissan Altima early Tuesday as officers deployed spike strips and blocked her escape - she struck two patrol cars before being stopped on I-24 around 7:30 a.m. and now faces multiple new charges while held on a $107,000 bond. - ➤ Rutherford County hosted an event in Smyrna on July 3 at Lee Victory Recreation Park that featured food trucks, live music by the Texas Twisters, and a pyrotechnic show in the dark. Today, Rockvale holds its 98th picnic starting at 10:00 a.m., La Vergne hosts a family picnic at 5:30 p.m., and Murfreesboro presents Celebration Under the Stars at the Fountains at Gateway starting at 4:30 p.m.—the Murfreesboro event also offers DJ music at 7:30 p.m. and a fireworks display at 9:00 p.m. WGNS
