- ➤ Uncle Dave Macon Days is now rebranded as Roots Rendezvous at Hop Springs and will celebrate local heritage with music, art and dance from September 19—21, honoring the famed banjoist. - ➤ Murfreesboro officials revealed a proposed settlement with Middle Point Landfill and Republic Services to resolve a lawsuit filed in 2022 that requires environmental measures such as treatment systems for reducing forever chemicals — a public meeting to vote on the settlement is scheduled for Thursday, July 31 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall. - ➤ The U.S. Department of State will host passport fairs in Murfreesboro and Nashville next week to help locals apply for a new passport or renew a child’s passport.
