- ➤ An 87-year-old local who stopped to help crash victims on Highway 231 South in Christiana was struck and killed on August 8 — authorities are investigating the incident with a 37-year-old driver. WGNS

- ➤ Ahmed Gouda, a 24-year-old man wanted for aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault, and a probation violation, was arrested last week at an apartment complex on Hillwood Drive in Murfreesboro and booked into the Wilson County Jail in Lebanon—he is set to appear before Judge Jimmy Lea on October 7 while a 21-year-old woman sought by Mt. Juliet Police was also detained and remains in custody. WGNS
