- ➤ Rutherford County Schools has launched a district-wide drive this November to collect non-perishable food and household supplies to support local families—donations can be dropped off at participating schools during regular hours. WGNS
- ➤ The Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands will hold an open house event Friday, December 5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 526 North Walnut Street—community members can learn about free legal help, ask questions, and honor local leader Cindy Gallaher. WGNS

- ➤ Kim Salyer, a program coordinator at Rutherford County Correctional Work Center, was honored as Program Facilitator of the Year at the statewide summit hosted by the Tennessee Corrections Institute in Franklin — the award recognizes her innovative approach and long-standing dedication to reentry programming since 2001. - ➤ Rutherford County Fire Rescue celebrated the graduation of Recruit Class 25-01 on November 14 after 14 weeks of tough training—learning fire behavior, rescue operations, handling hazardous materials and emergency medical skills. The new firefighters will report to their stations on Monday, November 17—beginning their service. WGNS
- ➤ Motorists on Old Lascassas Pike will face a temporary lane shift near East Northfield Boulevard at 1834 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday starting November 17 until work is complete—Dreamhomes is widening the road and constructing full-depth shoulders while city officials advise using alternate routes on Old Lascassas or North Tennessee Boulevard to avoid delays. - ➤ MTSU's starting quarterback Nick Vattiato sustained an undisclosed injury during the November 8 game and was ruled out of the November 15 contest against Western Kentucky—forcing the team to rely on backup Roman Gagliano. The Daily News Journal
- ➤ Two Murfreesboro high schools traveled to East Tennessee for second-round state playoff games—Blackman beat Dobyns-Bennett 28–7 with a strong rushing attack while Riverdale lost 47–18 to Maryville.
